Daniel's Birthday

ONE YEAR OLD

Daniel was ready for the Happy Birthday song, and clapped for the family performance once it was done, but he didn't know what to make of the cake ... or the candle.

Eventually the candle was blown out with some help from Dad and Jess. Unfortunately for Daniel he wasn't given a piece of cake to moosh up, but Dad did help Daniel to some icing, which I think he quite enjoyed.

Birthday Party at Uncle Nige and Aunty Sereena's

Party Party Party!

Nige and Sereena invited us to their place to have a birthday celebration with Daniel prior to his birthday since they will be in USA on the day.

Daniel's dinner wasn't anything special ... lots and lots of silverbeet and some other veges, but dessert was fabulous. A yummy cupcake with peanut butter frosting and a candle to blow out.

Daniel was fascinated with the flame on the candle, but even more fascinating was how the frosting felt being squished between his fingers mm mmmm.

Would you like some cake?

Daniel's Birthday

Daniel Turns 1

Daniel's turns one year old on 3 October and we are having a party on Saturday, 6 October.

Jacob and Jessica drew the pictures for the invitations which I took a photo of and had them printed to send out to family. Hopefully NZ Post delievered them ... all. Here are the two designs which you will have received one of.

Jacob drew the teddy bear and Jess drew the turtle.

The party is at our home on Saturday, 6 October, starting once everyone is there with a BBQ lunch - weather permitting. Then prezzie time, maybe a game or two and then the frightening 'Happy Birthday' song and cake. We sung Happy Birthday to Daniel the other night to see how he will do, and like big brother Jacob, he burst into tears. We will keep singing so he is ready for the party.

Friends

Spare Time

It's Friday after school and Jacob and Ezra have just recruited an extra player for cricket in the back yard - our neighbour Nicko. I am hoping none of the windows get broken out there! Ezra is Jacob's best friend from school.

Quiz Night

Quiz Night

On Thursday Jacob and Jess had their school Quiz Night.

Each team had to come up with their own team chant which they will use at different team competitions at school. Manuka's one was sung to the tune of, "We will, we will rock you". It was great.

Jess represented her team (Manuka) for her age group, to answer quiz questions on general knowledge and the Bible. She got at least five points for her team.

They also had a 'Sing-off' Competition which Sereena judged, along with some other judges. It was a fun night and Daniel enjoyed it too, clapping every now and then.

Just to let you know ...

Hi - well here we are, up and running
and not really knowing what to do.

Thanks for stopping by to check in on us and have a nosie.

SO WHAT ARE
WE UP TO?

THE BOYS!
Enjoying Movenpick Ice Creams ... mmmmmm. A great way to end a great day in Auckland. That was our Christmas holiday last year. This year we are headed in the opposite direction ... South! We are spending Christmas with Phil's sister, Anne, her husband, Jason, and their children, Ashleigh and Chantelle, in Blenheim. Grandma and Grandpa are coming too, so we will have a great time with the family. We're all excited, but Jacob and Jessica are apprehensive about the ferry sinking. They wanted to know if we will all need to wear life-jackets.

NATALIE

As I said before, the ice-cream was mmm-mmmmmm. Worth paying the gold that we did!

What I should be doing right now is planning Daniel's birthday and sending out invitations, but this is fun and I think I've started something that I should finish. I also need to make Jacob and Jess' lunches between now and bedtime, but I'll get to that too.

I'm also planning a surprise birthday for Phil who's 40 in November.

JESSICA
Fun afternoon roller blading down the boardwalk in Arahuri, Napier and playing on the shore, finding dried up starfish.
Jess had her tennis graduation party today. She has finished her PeeWee tennis coaching and has graduated to a full size court. Move over Maria Sharapova!
Jess is also collecting the Weet-bix Stat Attack cards. Jacob has the full set, thanks to Jess helping him out, so now it's her turn. We have had two emails from other eager collectors today wanting to swap cards - one from Picton, the other from Wellington.

I THOUGHT THAT WOULD MAKE YOU LAUGH

And he makes us laugh too. Right now he is 'booger-boy'. I know it sounds horrible, but it is true, and we have to make light of it or else we would all be grossed out. Daniel isn't walking yet ... unaided. He does like to practise though, by walking the clothes rack around the dining room. He has three teeth and is working on the fourth.
