Photo Time

We went out for a photo shoot and got some great photos of Jacob, Jess and Daniel ... before the rain sent us running for cover! Here are some of the best - there were some bloopers too!

Yes, Daniel is sitting precariously up there! But Phil is JUST out of the picture, ready to dive if need be.

Piano Exams

August 2008

Jacob and Jess sat their first piano exams, and although were nervous did very well.

Jacob sat Grade 1 and passed with an A Distinction and Jess sat her Preliminary and passed with a B+ Credit Plus.

They are all enthusiastic for next year ... bring it on!

This is the cake I made for them to celebrate all their hard work and many practice hours spent prior to the exam (some willing and some not so willing).

Inter-school Cross Country

9 September 2008

Jacob and Jess both represented the Hastings Christian School for the inter-school cross country today. The weather forecast was to be sunny and 21C ... well, it was warm, until it poured with rain!

Jessie ran in the Year 4 race and came 6th, so got to stand on the podium, which she was very excited about!

As you can see it is a pleasant day thus far ... well that all changed as the big, black clouds raced our way, just in time for Jacob's run. He needed window wipers on his glasses, but he enjoyed running in the rain, and it will definitely be a memorable day because of it.

These are the boys who ran in the same race as Jacob, and came some where behind him. The officials ran out of ticket numbers to give to the boys, so I don't think they know exactly where they came! They are Cody, Joel, Ezra and Jacob.

Saturday 10 May 2008 - Netball Season

My first netball game. That's me with the ball.

We played Havelock North Blue and we won 16 to 1

I scored 7 goals. I played WD & GA. I got Player of the Day and got two chocolates ... yum yum. Oh, and I was team captain.

First Game of Soccer for the Season
Jacob joined the Havelock North Hotshots this season and had his first game last Saturday (12 April). It was a lot of fun and running around, and there were a lot of goal scoring and attempts on goal. The team won 7-2!!!
The biggest supporter on the side-line was probably the smallest. Hollering out his own game plan for the team was Daniel ... at the top of his lungs! I think he kept the team going.
Tomorrow is the second game and then after the holidays we will be divided as Jess starts netball at the same time as Jacob's soccer.
There you go Aunty Sereena ... an update!
